Mr. Barod was able to explain things to me that my US doctor could / would not. He listened to my concerns and helped me to understand the situation and prognosis (Kidney Cancer Diagnoses and Removal) clearly. I left the appointment feeling relieved and reassured. It was a real human interaction that I very much appreciated after going through surgery in the US healthcare system.

I was given a devastating diagnosis and felt I had no hope and little chance of survival and I sought the help of Mr Ravi Barod. I cannot convey how this surgeon was able to listen, asses, evaluate and come to the correct diagnosis of a rare adrenal tumour and - that he could help me. I was referred to Dr Karra, a respected endocrinologist who was totally proactive and reassuring. She is amazing. The whole thing moved forward very quickly, seamless effective communication every step of the way. This is a genuine five star rating. For the first time in months I felt I was in safe hands. I have complete faith in this exceptional team. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Mr. Barod has been an excellent doctor. He explained everything very clearly with diagrams and scans to show me that my kidney was totally non -functioning. He performed the operation of the removal of my kidney by keyhole surgery using a robotic arm. This meant my recovery was more rapid and my scars were minimal as I did not require stitches as he used surgical glue. He was very kind and considerate and answered all my questions. He even phoned my husband after the operation to reassure him that all had gone well. I can highly recommend Mr. Barod.

I was referred by my NHS consultant to see Dr Ravi Barod on the NHS, however my circumstances changed and took a turn for the worse so I ended up going as a private patient. First and foremost, this man has not only saved my life physically but mentally too. I was in such a bad place prior to my surgery, in constant pain, living with a tube in my back and really mentally down. I knew Dr Barod was an amazing person from the first initial consultation, I felt listened to, understood and valued. At no point was I pushed to go private, in fact he went out of his way to try and get me seen quicker on the NHS but this wasn't possible. He reassured me that he would help, he explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, explained the risks but strangely I didn't feel scared, I felt confident in knowing he knew what he was talking about and was so certain. The morning of my operation was so smooth, operation went well but unfortunately I had a funny turn. Dr Barod stayed at the hospital until well after his shift ended and even come in especially early to see how I was, checking in constantly - amazing service. I have seen Dr Barod since my operation to have a small procedure and he was exactly the same, friendly, professional and compassionate. I am looking forward to my follow up to see just how successful the operation was. I want to say a massive thank you to Dr Barod, you have given me my life back. I highly highly highly recommend Dr Barod to anyone, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much again! I'm eternally grateful.
